Τετάρτη

We support House Resolution 220.

Dear Supporter,

Today, AHC joins with Greeks around the world in commemorating the start of the Ottoman Greek Genocide. One hundred and three years ago, the Ittahadist Ottoman Empire began a systematic policy of extermination against the Empire’s indigenous Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian populations. For Ottoman Greeks, this horrific experience began on April 6, 1914, in Eastern Thrace.
On that Easter morning, the first Greek victims would be rounded up and deported, on what is now referred to as ‘Black Easter.' The Ittahadist orchestrated persecutions would soon spread to Asia Minor and Pontos, and eventually culminate with the destruction of Smyrna in 1922. According to various sources, over a million ethnic Greeks would perish during this period as a result of forced deportations, death marches, and massacres.
This anniversary, in memory of all the Greeks victims from throughout the Ottoman Empire. AHC is asking you to help us gather as many co-sponsors as possible for a bipartisan bill, which recognizes the Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian Genocide at the hands of the Ittahadists.
Please click the link below to contact your local Representative and ask them to co-sponsor House Resolution 220.
Sincerely,

Ioannis Fidanakis
